Degrees: Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Students with a concentration in Youth Development and minor in Recreational Studies, Kent State University (2009), Master of Education in Counseling, University of Cincinnati (2012)

Expertise: People First Terminology, Disabilities Education, Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Students with Disabilities in Transition.

Year appointed: 2013

At Marietta College, Melissa is responsible for meeting with all incoming students with documented disabilities and determining appropriate academic accommodations. She also holds regular meetings with students with disabilities to ensure access and success at Marietta College. Melissa also partners closely with faculty and staff to educate on disability related topics.

Prior to joining the Marietta College team, Melissa worked for three years as a graduate assistant at the Disability Services Office at the University of Cincinnati. After graduating she worked at a mental health agency in Cincinnati counseling high school students.

Melissa enjoys being outdoors, trying new restaurants/foods, and spending plenty of time with friends and family.
