Jacob Tidwell's responsibilities include advising Marietta College's social fraternities and sororities in the areas of chapter operations, risk management, community engagement, new member recruitment/education, and academic success. He serves as the direct advisor to the three governing councils (Greek, Interfraternity, and Panhellenic). Jacob also assists Mr. David Travis in the coordination and administration of various campus activities, events, and programs.
Jacob is a two-time graduate from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (2004) and a Masters degree in Business Administration (2008). Prior to joining our staff, Jacob served as the Assistant Director for Student Activities and Major Events at East Carolina University for four years. While there, he advised the Student Activities Board, focusing on entertainment, novelties, and films. He was also served on committees responsible for the planning of major campus events, maintained departmental websites, and coordinated assessment efforts of the seven offices within the Student Involvement and Leadership Department.
Jacob is a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He has previously served his fraternity as a Chapter Counselor and Alumni Relations Advisor. Additionally, he has facilitated at numerous leadership development functions, including the North-American Interfraternity Council's Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute and Beta Theta Pi's John and Nellie Wooden Institute for Men of Principle, Keystone Regional Leadership Conferences, and Peter F. Greiner Leadership College. He has also served in various volunteer positions in Region 5 of the Association of College Unions International. Jacob holds membership in the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors, Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values, and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
