What can a student expect when taking one of your classes?

Students can expect to be challenged; to see topics in new ways; to not only learn but be able to apply material well and to have some fun all at the same time.

What excites you about teaching at Marietta College?

The incredibly bright talented and gifted students that I am privileged to work with every day are definitely the most exciting part of teaching at Marietta College. It is wonderful to watch them grow and achieve their goals.

When you aren’t teaching, what other activities do you enjoy?

I enjoy spending time with my family as well as staying active. I recently took up yoga and I also enjoy hiking, biking, running, kayaking and swimming.

Do you prefer flipping through the pages of a book or an e-book?

E-books are nice for travel but for me they don’t replace the original.

What is your favorite location on campus and why?

The clinical room in the Physician Assistant Program building is my favorite spot. There is so much that goes on in this room, from learning how to do a funduscopic eye exam to enjoying potluck lunches. It’s a very positive place to be.

What is your favorite Marietta College event?

My favorite event is the White Coat Ceremony which is held in the fall for the Physician Assistant Students. It’s a wonderful ceremony which marks the beginning of the students’ professional lives. It is also great to see the students with their families and friends and just enjoy everyone’s company and celebrate their accomplishments.

What is your clinical work experience?

I practiced in the field of Urology for roughly 5 years as a Physician Assistant. I was a member of a private practice for over 2 years. I then worked with a smaller private practice in which I was a Physician Assistant as well as office/business manager for the practice. I practiced general urology with a special focus in female urology and interstitial cystitis.
