Biography

Makorobondo "Dee" Salukombo is a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo. In 2004, he arrived in Cleveland Ohio after spending three years in Uganda as a refugee. He arrived along with his father Fanchon Salukombo, his mother Aimee Mihio and six of his siblings (he has 9 total siblings). After attending Lincoln-West H.S, graduating from Lakewood H.S and receiving his BA in Chemistry at Denison University, he returned to the D.R. Congo to train for the 2016 Summer Olympics and create Kirotshe Foundation to support the youth of his native country academically and athletically.

I am very excited to be part of the Marietta family and have the opportunity to be an ambassador to the mission and core values of intellectual and creative excellence of Marietta College.

Salukombo, a 6-Time All-American and a 2016 Olympian, hopes to use his international experiences to be an asset especially to the students, but also to the college and to the community.
