Biography

Dr. Jacqueline Khorassani is the Senior Director of Entrepreneurship and Career Development at Marietta College.

For years, Khorassani was a full-time faculty member who taught a variety of economics courses in the areas of Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, International Economics, the Economics of Gender, and Applied Regression Analysis. She also lectured in China, Brazil, and Ireland and published articles in national and international economic journals, and presented papers at national and international conferences.

In October 2014, Dr. Khorassani became an Ice House Entrepreneurship Facilitator and started incorporating entrepreneurial thinking and behavior in her economics courses. The idea was to empower students to learn economics with a purpose.

In Fall 2015, Dr. Khorassani offered the first Entrepreneurial Mindset course at Marietta College. Soon after, she was appointed as the Director of the Entrepreneurship Program. In that capacity, Dr. Khorassani led the efforts to develop the Entrepreneurship curriculum and create a variety of co-curricular programs. Currently, Marietta College offers a major, minor, and certificate program in Entrepreneurship. The program also provides several co-curricular activity opportunities for students.

On July 10, 2023, Dr. Khorassani’s role was slightly modified. Her goal as the Senior Director of Entrepreneurship and Career Development is to inspire and empower students to take ownership of their future and start the process of building a better life for themselves and those around them from the moment they arrive at Marietta College.
