Before joining Marietta College, Dr. Price taught at Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and at Marshall University, where she received the university-wide Pickens Queen Teaching Award. Her teaching career began at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, as a member of the adjunct faculty. She has presented research at conferences in the United States and abroad, including the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication and the International Communication Association.

For most of her professional career, Price worked in Chicago. As executive editor for an international business magazine publishing company with circulation to 165 countries, she managed the Chicago editorial office, and trained writers and editors in the U.S. and in Asia. Her professional experience also includes serving as director of communications for a national employee benefits association, associate editor for a banking magazine, publications editor for a metropolitan hospital, freelance writer and Web consultant.
