Completion of the Adolescent−Young Adult Program enables graduates to qualify for an Ohio grade 7 through 12 license in one or more of the following areas: integrated language arts, integrated social studies, mathematics, biology, chemistry, or physics.
To complete this program, students fulfill requirements for a major in the content area they plan to teach and complete education course requirements, including the semesterlong, full-time internship. Multiple opportunities to work in classrooms and experience all aspects of teaching occur throughout the four-year program.
Small class sizes build strong relationships with faculty and fellow students, and close mentoring occurs by faculty, who have real-world experience as classroom teachers. Marietta College is one of the top four education programs in Ohio by the Ohio Department of Higher Education. Over several years, the education program has achieved 100 percent job placement for its graduates.
