Cdigix
Marietta College students, faculty, and staff have access to several online media services through Cdigix, a leading provider of digital entertainment and educational curriculum for college campuses. An MC email account username and password are required to register for the following services.
Cdigix is Now Free for MC Students
Cdigix has waived its monthly subscription fee.
Sign up with your MC email address and access more than 2.5 million songs on your PC.
(Download fees still apply when burning a song to a CD.)
To Register
1. Go to www.CtraxMusic.com
2. Click "Create New Account" in the login box on the left of the
screen
3. Enter your current .edu email address, student information and
create/confirm a password
4. After submitting, check your school email account for a verification
letter
5. Click verification link within email and confirm
6. Go to www.CtraxMusic.com to download the Ctrax Media Player
7. Sign with your email address and chosen password.
Optional Subscriptions and Costs
- Ctrax offers the Ctrax2Go subscription,
which gives users unlimited song transfers to a PlaysForSure portable
device. The optional Ctrax2Go service is offered at the monthly
price of $6.99.
- For faculty and staff who want to sign up, the Ctrax subscription is
$5.99 a month.
- To purchase music, there is a fee of $0.89 per track and
$9.99 per album.
Ctrax
Cdigix offers more than two million songs from major-label and independent recording artists available for legal download to up to three unique computers per user. (Computers can be on or off campus.)
A monthly subscription fee ($5.99 for staff) allows users to download all available songs. Files can be copied to an mp3 player or burned to a CD, for $0.89 per song.
Please note: Ctrax uses the Windows Media Audio (*.wma) encoded at 128kbps. This service is not available to Mac users at this time, but Cdigix plans to expand its service in the future.
Cflix
Cdigix presents broadcast-quality video from leading film and TV content providers, including CinemaNow, Teton Gravity Research, the Washington Post, and Atom Shockwave.
A monthly subscription fee ($5.99) delivers video on demand to your PC via a high-speed (broadband) Internet connection. Once a selection is made, content is delivered from the local Cdigix cache which resides within the
Marietta's local area network (LAN).
Users have full control over programs that are downloaded to your computer. The Media Player uses the equivalent of "VCR-functionality" and can be used to play/stop, fast forward/rewind and pause all programming.
Please note: Cflix uses Windows Media Player version 9+ to deliver content.
Clabs
Cdigix provides students an opportunity to access all course-required, multimedia content in an on-demand digital format, which is accessed through WebCT. (A class must be registered for Clabs service for its curriculum to be available online.)

Cvillage
Cdigix introduces a site for student-produced media creations, including
films, news casts, game shows, and music videos from a variety of schools.
You are not required to be a subscriber to, Ctrax, Cflix or Clabs to access
Cvillage. This service may be accessed and the content may be viewed by all
authorized students at Marietta.
