. Functional Feeding Group

Survey date : 01 April.2000

Investigator: (Team B) Finky, Ana, Ann, Linda

Method ;

At first, we surveyed and catched aquatic insects in KaPyung creek.

Second, we searched data on the internet and literature cited.

Finally, we consolidated and sorted data.

Result ;

1) Grouping of species

There are 17 species in KaPyung upper stream. Otherwise, individual number are 516/m*m.

2) FFGs(Food Functional Generations)

The main organism in upper stream of KaPyung is collector gather that lives eating FPOM(70%). The rest that lives in KaPyung upper stream is shredder that eats CPOM(23%). We knew this reflects the fact that is 'River Continuum Concept' which appears various species.

3) Food chain

The stability of the Food chain is turned as main food in species according to food.

Complex food chain recovers rapidly, however, simple food chain is easy to destroy for pressure on the outside.
