Biology Slide Shows

These slide shows are for those of you who want to see some more of the department and our adventures without risking carpal-tunnel syndrome.  One click - sit back and relax and the slides will play in order.  Most of the images in the slideshows are used  elsewhere on the site, so if one goes past too soon don't despair - just use the links at the bottom of the page or those to the left to go to the appropriate page.

Some of these files are pretty big and might not load properly over a modem connection.

If you don't see the slideshows previewed below, see the troubleshooting notes at the bottom of the page.

Main Slideshow:  300+ images, 600x600 pixels:  A little bit of everything in the department - people, places, plants, animals, equipment, field trips, Marietta, biomes, etc. Takes about 25 minutes to cycle through.

Troubleshooting:

If you don't see the slideshow previews in the boxes above, there are several possible problems and solutions:

1.  You may have a slow internet connection - some of these files are huge and may take a long time to appear over a phone line, for instance.  If the previews work but the actual files (which are larger) do not, this is the most likely problem.

2.  You may not have an up-to-date-browser with the proper add-ins.  This page has been tested on IE 7; you need to have the Shockwave Flash Add-on installed and enabled on your browser.

3.  Your browser and or your anti-virus software may be configured to block certain types of media from displaying.  For example, Norton Internet Security has settings to block ads and popups; if the software is configured to block ads the slides will not show.  You need to consult your web browser help files as well as your anti-virus software help files for instructions on how to configure your software.  In most cases, it will be possible for you to configure the software so that it will allow "ads" on this site only, thus leaving you protected elsewhere.
