Flatworm @ Monteverde!

We found this flatworm on a tree next to the suspension bridge in Monteverde.  Note the decisiveness with which Dr. Brown assigns a student to pick it up.  At the time, we weren't quite sure what it was; after it was picked up it became obvious that it was a Platyhelminthes, or flatworm.  Related to the freshwater planarian, this is an unusual form in that not many of this phylum are free-living in a terrestrial habitat.  For the record, the hand in the photo is mine.
