Assignments
Students are required to complete the following assignments while on
clinical rotations.

Weekly tracking of patient encounters and procedures.

Completion of the disease list study guide outline for specific disease/topics
pertinent to the recently completed rotation.

Completed preceptor and clinical site evaluation forms.

All students will submit a written case presentation based on a patient
encounter during the previous rotation. The case presentation should
include the presentation, course of action, treatment(s), and outcome
(including labs and ancillary tests to support the case).

All students are expected to be prepared to present their case presentation
to the class during call back days. One or more students will be chosen
to present each session.

In addition to the above assignments, the following also are to be
turned in on call back days following the specific rotation.

Family Medicine - minimum two page typewritten evidence based
review on a specific topic seen during the rotation. The text must
be referenced utilizing at least one journal and one textbook.

Internal Medicine - minimum two page typewritten evidence
based review on a specific topic seen during the rotation. The text
must be referenced utilizing at least one journal and one textbook.

Emergency Medicine - minimum two page typewritten paper detailing
a procedure that was performed while on the rotation; include the
medications utilized, each step performed, and post procedure care
and instructions. Cite references used.

General Surgery - minimum two page typewritten paper detailing
a surgery or procedure experienced during the rotation. Include pre
and post op care and instructions.

Prenatal/GYN - one page typewritten paper of one complete
"new" OB workup performed while on rotation and one SOAP note typewritten
on a GYN patient (not a routine yearly exam).

Pediatrics - one page typewritten paper on a childhood disease
or disorder citing references with at least one journal and one textbook
listed and one complete pediatric exam including all birth information,
developmental parameters on a child between 1-5 years of age (preferably
not on a healthy child).

Orthopedics - minimum two page typewritten evidence based
review on a specific topic or procedure seen during the rotation.
The text must be referenced utilizing at least one journal and one
textbook.

Psychiatry - minimum two page typewritten evidence based review
on a specific topic seen during the rotation. The text must be referenced
utilizing at least one journal and one textbook.
