"Joining the forensics team has really been a great experience for me. Not only have I met some amazing people, I have had a wonderful time getting to know them, spending time practicing them, and further developing my speaking skills. Dr. O has really pushed me this year to see my potential and I'm eternally grateful to her for that. I have definitely learned a lot and I can't wait for my next three years to see where the team develops!"

" The Marietta College Forensic Team has a wonderful way for me to
improve my communication skills while being involved on campus.
Through this team I have met many new people who are fun and
exciting. The atmosphere of the team is one of great excitement and
enthusiasm, which I love! Everyone is supportive and encouraging of
each other. With this sense of team I have been stretched my limits
and dared to do things I have never done before, which includes
entering in five categories during one tournament. Overall, my
experience at Marietta College would not be the same without the
forensics team. It has given me a chance to travel, make fun friends,
and become a better person. "

" I have never been a member of a forensics team before, but I am
finding that the time that I have spent participating on Marietta's
team thus far has been very rewarding. I appreciate the challenge
that preparing for competition has been, and I am excited about
growing as a public speaker as I continue in the program. "

Being able to talk comfortably in front of a large group of people is a skill that will never go out of style. So far, the boons of being in this great organization have made all the hours of practice well worth every minute."

Being able to express myself in a clear, coherent fashion – for the most part – is a great skill and has been helpful in so many areas of my life. Through the team, I was also able to meet many new people, on and off Marietta’s campus, and it’s been a blast!”
