Beverly Center Professional Partnership School

Beverly-Center Elementary in Beverly, Ohio has been designated as the Marietta College Department of Education professional partner school for the Mild/Moderate Licensure program. The Mild/Moderate Methods Course (EDUC 342) will be taught at this school as well as the 30 hour field placement will be performed in the classrooms at the school. Principal Megan Miller has opened her school to allow our Intervention Specialists to gain hands-on experience working with their "at risk" children, mainly in the areas of reading and mathematics. With the course being held at Beverly-Center Elementary School, it allows our teacher candidates to practice methods with the children, learn from the school's experienced educators and put theory into practice. Students are encouraged to become a part of the Beverly Center community, participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, IAT conferences, IEP and all team meetings. Each teacher candidate is given an IPAD to use with the students at the school. Appropriate technology usage is promoted through careful lesson planning with their clinical teachers.
