The Marietta College Morning Science Club was created and implemented to provide Early Childhood Education majors with opportunities to plan and implement science lessons that are engaging and based on educational best practices. Students from the Marietta community attend, at no cost, and take part in science activities that might not be a part of their regular school-day curriculum. This meaningful involvement enhances critical thinking and the processes of inquiry. In addition to receiving positive responses from Marietta College students and the children participating, there has also been strong support from parents and requests for further opportunities for their children to be involved in this program. Plans are underway for an additional Morning Math Club that will begin in the spring semester of 2013.
