Mark Bagshaw, Management, Ed.D. Penn State. The former owner of a successful start-up in the direct-mail catalog music business, Professor Bagshaw teaches courses in the strategic management and leadership of organizations, as well as an integrative capstone course in the College's master of arts in liberal learning program. His published work focuses on planning and organizational issues in higher education and relating liberal arts education to leadership in business. He is the author or co-author of a number of professional publications and presented papers, including (with K.P. Mortimer) an influential monograph, Flexibility in Academic Staffing.


Greg Delemeester , McCoy Professor of Economics, Ph.D. Texas A&M. holds the Milton Friedman Chair in Economics. Dr. Delemeester's field is experimental economics and is co-author of a manual on this topic published by Houghton Mifflin and has co-authored articles appearing in the Journal of Economic Education and the Journal of Economic Surveys. He is also co-editor of Classroom Expernomics, a web-based resource devoted to teaching applications using classroom experiments.


Jim Falter, Associate Professor of Finance, D.B.A., Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Falter's research focuses on investor behavior and stock market efficiency. He has had several articles accepted for publication in annual proceedings of the Midwest Finance Association and the Southern Finance Association. Additionally, he has served as topic chair and on the program committee for the Midwest Financial Association. He has served as a reviewer for McGraw-Hill on the topic of "Behavioral Finance" and "Investments" on books pertaining to corporate finance and investments. Dr. Falter holds the industry designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and is a Level II Candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation (CFA). He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the Midwest Finance Association, Financial Executives International and the Federation of Business Disciplines. Dr. Falter consults and conducts seminars on financial management and planning. He has worked with national corporations including Cigna Corporation and Aetna/US Healthcare and consulted for regional organizations including the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association and First National Bank.


Johnson photo
Grace F. Johnson, McCoy Professor of Accounting and Management, M.Acc. South Florida, CPA, CMA (inactive). As well as teaching financial accounting, Professor Johnson is responsible for courses in accounting information systems and accounting research. Her latest book, co-authored with Andre Sather Guimarães and published in Brazil, is Sistemas de Informações: Administracao em Tempo Real. She also has been published in theJournal of E-business, Decision Management, Revista Eletrônica de Administracao (a journal of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul), and in Prentice Hall's Encyclopedia of Accounting Systems. Professor Johnson and is an active presenter at accounting and international business conferences. Her current research interests include studies of Chinese rural development topics and health care in northwest China. Johnson also serves as Director of the Investigative Studies Program, Marietta's undergraduate research program.



Khorassani photo
Jacqueline Khorassani , Economics, Ph.D. West Virginia University. Dr. Khorassani's fields of specialization are: Macroeconomics, Applied Regression Analysis, Monetary Economics, International Economics and the Economics of gender. Dr. Khorassani has received awards for her innovative teaching techniques. She has presented papers at international conferences and lectured in China and Brazil. Dr. Khorassani has been published in the Journal of Economics and Finance. Dr. Khorassani's current research focuses on shadow economic activities.


{short description of image}Edward H. Osborne , McCoy Professor of Accounting and Management, MBA University of Indiana, CPA; EMA Department Chair. Osborne teaches managerial and financial accounting and auditing, and is director of the department's internship program. He has lectured in China, received a fellowship to work in Hungary, and has given several papers on opportunities for small businesses in former Soviet-bloc countries. Professor Osborne has been published in the Journal of Accountancy and Management Accounting. He was with the Chicago office of Arthur Andersen for several years before joining the faculty of Marietta College.




Sidney Potash, Management and Human Resource Management, Ph.D. SUNY-Buffalo. Dr. Potash is Professor of Management and Leadership. His academic areas of interest are organizational behavior and human resource management. Since 1990, he has taken three year-long sabbaticals to keep current as to the new leadership styles and skills being practiced in the field. His first sabbatical in 1990 was with GE, then in 1998 with Wiremold (a global provider of telecommunications and computer cabling), and finally in 2006 with DuPont. He consults with local businesses, and serves on the Board of Directors of the local chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management.


Taylor photoMichael B. Taylor, McCoy Professor of Management and Leadership, Ph.D. Harvard. Dr. Taylor was a key player in the re-shaping of the management major. His rich and varied academic background qualifies him to teach leadership and business ethics in addition to being responsible for the marketing program at Marietta. Dr. Taylor has spent time in China and is making a special study of the differences between eastern and western styles of leadership. An active scholar, he has been published and makes presentations frequently.

Jeremy Fei Wang, Management Information Systems, MBA Ohio University. Professor Wang joined the department in the Fall of 2004 after several years as a senior consultant with Cap Gemini, one of the world's largest consulting firms.
