‘Great Decisions Series’ returns

Following a successful inaugural run, The McDonough Center for Leadership and Business, along with the Marietta Branch of The American Association of University Women (AAUW), is once again hosting a six-week educational program titled, The Great Decisions Series 2007.

‘Great Decisions,’ which is designed to enrich the international understanding of people in the Marietta community, will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sundays from January 24 to March 4 in the McDonough Center on the campus of Marietta College.

Marietta 's program offers the opportunity for members of the community to learn more about current world issues and concerns through reading written materials, listening to formal presentations, and discussing the material with the aid of facilitators.

Education Master’s classes

Marietta College ’s Master of Arts in Education program is offering another full load of classes when the spring semester begins on Jan. 22.

All 13 classes will be taught in the evening and anyone interested in taking a class should contact Cathy Brown, Director of Graduate and Continuing Studies at MC, x4740 or ce@marietta.edu.

Brown said these courses also assist teachers who need continuing education opportunities for certificate renewal.

‘Make a Difference Day’

Marietta College students are organizing 16 separate projects for the annual Make a Difference Day on Friday, Oct. 28, according to Tanya Judd Pucella, director of civic engagement.

Make a Difference Day is a national day of service that annually reaches more than 25 million people in need. Marietta students have arranged projects around the community for the special day, including work at the Marietta Family YMCA, Incredible Community Playground, and O'Neill Senior Center.

Art Display in McDonough

‘The Lifelong Art of Madame Shao Fang Sheng' will be on display at the McDonough Gallery from November 7-11. The gallery is open from 1 to 7 p.m. daily, and there is an open reception to meet the artist from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, November 10.

Madame Shao Fang Sheng is a 90-yearold Chinese artist who has studied with the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

“The artwork displayed at the exhibition will not only showcase the heritage of Buddhist art and classic Chinese literary expression, but also demonstrate Madame Sheng’s philosophy of life as an artist,” says Dr. Ludong Tong.

Dr. Perruci re-elected to ILA

Dr. Gama Perruci, dean of the McDonough Center for Leadership and Business, was recently re-elected to a second threeyear term on the Board of Directors of the International Leadership Association (ILA). As an ILA Board member, Perruci has been focusing on membership issues and the development of a Latin American Chapter of the organization. According to the ILA Website, it is a global network for all those who practice, study and teach leadership. The ILA promotes a deeper understanding of leadership knowledge and practices for the greater good of individuals and communities worldwide.
