Dr. Liane Gray-Starner’s take on changes
By Sam Meranda

As the media changes, so must curriculums in college. Here, at Marietta College, we must keep up, too. I spoke with Dr. Liane Gray-Starner on her perspective of how she believes the Communication Department will have to change in order to keep up.

Dr. Gray-Starner said, "It encourages me to learn from my students," and, "it's exciting to learn new things." Dr. Gray-Starner also commented on how it's not about just the changing technology, but also on keeping up with the trends.

"We watched the Spongebob Squarepants episode where Krusty Krab was training his new employees," said Dr. Gray-Starner.

Though the Communication Department is slowly incorporating new technologies and conforming to the new trends, Dr. Gray-Starner thinks that most of the changes will occur in the Mass Media side of the department because of the changes in digital broadcasting.
