Greeks Award Excellence in Members

Greek Man of the Year
Douglas Orr, Delta Tau Delta

Douglas Orr was chosen Greek Man of the Year for his living of a full Greek Life. As a Delt he served on numerous committees and as secretary, but on campus he worked countless hours on Christmas on Campus, heading up Circle K, and many other service projects. He was a leader in the classroom as well as he pursued his degree in Accounting. He has been serving as an intern with CPA, brother, and Advisor Robert Ferguson and will continue to work there after graduation

Greek Woman of the Year
Beth Bennon, Alpha Xi Delta

Elizabeth Bennon has been an extremely influential person within the Greek community. Living her ideals, Beth has made monumental strides in bettering the governing body of the sororities, Panhellenic Council. Beth was dedicated to making sure people join Greek Life for the right reasons - for bettering themselves and their community. A major within the EMA degree with Accounting and Finances, she maintained a high GPA and worked hard to expect the same out of all.

Note Bins for Good Use
John “GooSe” Kitson
kitsonj@marietta.edu

This weekend you may notice bins labeled “NOTES” in all of your residence halls building. Although they may contain notes in them, their real purpose is for you to put your notes in them.

Serving as a research, design, and service project for myself, I will be placing these bins in as many places as possible. The goals are to both see how much paper in used by Marietta College students as well as begin preparations for a new computer program aimed as cataloging the notes into a database for use.

Academics are a very important part of Greek Life and I am greatly trying to take on something that could do a great deal of good for all Marietta College students.

If you have any questions, or would like your notes and tests picked up personally, please contact me at kitsonj@marietta.edu or 304.210.2442. Any help in this endeavor would be greatly appreciated.
