Advertising
and Public Relations
The topics of Advertising and Public Relations are integrated into a
single major at Marietta. The overlap in theory and practice between
these two areas make the major a valuable combination of broadly-based
studies. Advertising and Public Relations is one of the four undergraduate
majors offered by the Marietta Mass Media Department.
Advertising and Public Relations offers students the opportunity to
understand the nature of persuasion and the ethical problems associated
with this form of communication. Students are introduced to desktop
publishing, formal written communication systems, computer-based projects,
and organizational problem-solving. Upperclassmen round out their degree
with an internship in an area of interest.
