Jack L. Hillwig
Professor

Dr. Hillwig taught for 10 years as a Professor in the Department of Communication at Eastern Kentucky University. He has also chaired mass media departments in Texas and Vermont and directed the Visual Communication program at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. He most recently taught courses in media writing, publication design, and advertising at Zayed University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

He has worked professionally as a photojournalist, reporter and city editor for newspapers in Pennsylvania and has a long career as a freelance photojournalist and writer. He has also achieved success in the field of motion picture screenwriting. Dr. Hillwig has an M.A. and a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and a B.A. from Bethany College in West Virginia.

He is married and has three children. His motto is “Nothing is impossible,” and he personally subscribes to the James Dean quotation: “Dream like you’ll live forever. Live like you’ll die tomorrow.”
