WCMO-FM

Ever want to be a disc jockey?

Ever want to develop your own radio program?

Ever want to let your creative juices flow?

Ever want to be an instant campus celebrity?

...Then WCMO-FM is for you!

WCMO-FM gives Marietta College students the opportunity to create, produce and star in their own radio programs broadcast on a small 10-Watt station to the Marietta College campus.

Students in the Mass Media Department are given rather wide creative license to develop all programming on WCMO-FM. The station is not locked into any one format, and musical tastes and program styles differ widely from talk to music of all genres.

Not only do students have rather broad creative license, but they also get practical hands-on experience in developing and maintaining radio broadcasts.

WCMO-FM is now 40 years old and was originally developed under the leadership of Dr. Bernard Russi of the Speech Department. Later, the station became part of the Mass Media Department as a station designed to meet the needs of students and the college community.

Anyone interested in developing programming and being a part of the WCMO-FM radio family should contact either Ralph Matheny, mathenyr@marietta.edu, or Dennis Lebec at lebecd@marietta.edu. Interested students may also contact Mass Media Department Chair Thomas S. Hodson at 740-376-4804 or hodsont@marietta.edu.
