WCMO-TV is a 24-hour-a-day
television station owned and operated by Marietta College
and its faculty and students. It provides the community with
half-hour news programs four days a week, plus specialty programming
and live sports coverage of Marietta College athletics.
The station gives Mass
Media students the opportunity to write and edit television
news, to produce, to direct and to act as crew and talent
for a wide variety of television programming.
Students get experience
covering campus life, community issues, national and international
news and sports.
Some of the Mass Media
courses are designed to have students work on various aspects
of television broadcasting using WCMO-TV as a working laboratory.
Creativity is encouraged and student-generated programming
is a priority.
The station is equipped
with a full studio plus a state-of-the-art control room with
first-rate editing equipment.
Numerous alumni from WCMO-TV
have gone on to distinguished careers in television.
