Computers are at the heart of the digital
revolution in imaging. Links from this page take you to

As far as computers for imaging are concerned, you only need to
remember a few things. Basically, be generous with memory, disk
space, and monitor size. If you cut back, cut back on processor
speed. It is nice, but not as crucial as memory. In the perennial
battle between Mac and PC, my response is "who cares?"
Whichever one has the software that you are comfortable with, that's the
one to get.
