Concert Choir - MUSC 361
The Concert Choir is a select chorus requiring an informal audition (no prepared solo is required). As the musical ambassadors of Marietta College, the choir tours annually and has performed throughout the United States and toured to Italy in 2002 with performances at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, St., Mark's in Venice, and for Pope John Paul II. In 2006 on their tour of Northern China, the choir became the first American college choir to perform for the Chinese Choral Director's National Seminar. Concert tours are scheduled annually during the week following graduation in early May.
Auditions may be scheduled during Freshman Orientation or during the first week of classes in the fall term.
Rehearsals are held MWF from 12:00 to 12:50 p.m. and Thursdays from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Marietta College's newest choral group, the Men's Vocal Ensemble performs a variety of musical styles suitable for male voices and is open to all male members of the Marietta College community. No audition is required.
Rehearsals are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. Participation in the ensemble may be used in partial fulfillment of the Fine Arts requirements at Marietta College
Women's Choir - MUSC 162
The Women's Choir performs a variety of musical styles suitable for female voices and is open to all female members of the Marietta College community. No audition is required.
Rehearsals are held every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Participation in Women's Choir may be used in partial fulfillment of the Fine Arts requirements at Marietta College.
FloodStage (Vocal Jazz Ensemble) - MUSC 164
Marietta College’s vocal jazz ensemble, known as FloodStage, is a select ensemble of 6 to 8 singers focusing on music in the jazz and pop idioms. These singers perform frequently within the Marietta community, on campus, and around the state. Auditions are held the first week of fall term.
Oratorio Chorus - MUSC 163
The Oratorio Chorus performs major choral/orchestral works each semester and is open to both Marietta College students and members of the community. No audition is required. Rehearsals are held every Monday evening beginning in September from 7:30 to 9:30. Its annual performance of Messiah is as old as the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and boast a standing room only attendance each year of over 1200 people. Participation in Oratorio Chorus may be used in partial fulfillment of the Fine Arts requirements at Marietta College.
