2011 Jake Wambsganss Scholarship Recipient

Patrick Tevenan, a senior accounting major from Western Illinois University, is this year's recipient of the Jake Wambsganss Scholarship. Named in memory of Dr. Wambsganss, a longtime member and leader in the NAAS and MBAA, the award is made annually to a student from the institution of the outgoing NAAS program chair.

During his time at WIU, Patrick has been active in Beta Alpha Psi and the Illinois CPA Society. He will be interning at the Illinois state auditor office after graduation and has accepted a fulltime accounting position with McGladry and Pullen in the Quad Cities for autumn 2012.

We congratulate Patrick on his academic achievements and wish him continued success as he starts his professional life.

Cameron Morrill was in Chicago to present the paper. He says of his work and the NAAS meeting, "My research tends to be in the area of financial accounting, focusing on comparisons between different types of accounting information and/or different accounting standards. This was my first trip to the MBAA International Conference. I found the North American Accounting Society stream of the conference to be diverse and interesting, and the sessions to be supportive and friendly. To top it off, Chicago is a great town. I hope that I will be able to attend again."
