In the past...
The MC Rainbow Alliance was revitalized in the Spring of 2002 after a period of inactivity. In the past, the Rainbow Alliance has brought a number of speakers to campus and utilized "brown bag lunch" movies and discussions to help familiarize the campus community with the issues and lives of sexual minorities. In 2002, the group sponsored a "New Moon Costume Ball" for the campus with plenty of fun costumes and good music. Tabling, fliers, and announcements of workshops in the area have also been used to increase awareness.
2003 saw a number of social events, including a "Creme-Filled Donut Day Dance," a "Swinging Valentine's Day Dance," and a "Greek-themed Formal." Also, the Rainbow Alliance supported the campus' Diversity Week, sponsoring a performance by the Columbus Gay Men's Chorus as well as participating in a number of events. Finally, the Rainbow Alliance participated in the Day of Silence Project.
