Chi Omega Sorority joins in the parade.
Still waiting for the parade to
start.
Some SPE members put the final touches on the float as the parade starts.
How can we forget our Candidate??

This year's theme for Homecoming was "Where the past meets the future." The Society of Petroleum Engineers teamed up with the Chi Omega Sorority to build their float. We portrayed the old oil industry, where everyone is cheering and happy that oil was found. And to satisfy the requirement of the official homecoming theme, the front of our float was a display of a new drilling rig with protesters cheering "Save the Owls!" The owls, or the Hooties, just happen to be the Chi Omega mascot.
We took second place with
our float idea.
We also have created Homecoming T-shirts. The design of the T-shirt is as follows:
Front:
Brains & Beauty
SPE and CHI OMEGA
Homecoming 2001
Back: Top Ten Things SPE and
Chi Omega have in Common
1. BEER!

4. Not afraid to get a little dirty
5. BEER PONG CHAMPS!
