
David St. Peter
Station Manager/Engineer and Instructor
Before joining the Mass Media staff, Dave was the News/Sports/Program
Director at WATK/WACD in Antigo, WI from 1998-2004. At the station
his duties included determining all on-air programming, news gathering
and anchoring, sports play-by-play, live daily on-air shift, production
of material for on-air play, scheduling part-time employee shifts.
Prior to the job at WTAK/WACD he was a staff writer for Don CeSar
Beach Resort and Spa in St. Pete Beach, FL from 1996-1998. While there
he wrote feature articles for Interstate Hotels Corporations
employee- and management-level newsletters. Served on corporations
National Communications Review Board, a panel that examined ways to
improve internal communications. Staff painter at the Don from 1992-1998.
He was a staff announcer at WRRR/WVVW in St. Marys, WV from 1984-1989.
Live on-air shifts during all dayparts. Production ranging from 30-second
spots and PSAs to hour-length feature programming.
From 1982-1984 he was an Account Executive for Phase One Productions
in Marietta. He sold advertising time and space for various print
and electronic ventures, including the Ohio State University mens
basketball game programs and the Jesse Owens Track Classic Program.
Dave received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Ohio State
University in June of 1982 and his Master of Arts in Mass Communications
from University of South Florida (Tampa) in May of 1997. He and his
wife Darlene have two children and live in Marietta.

A. Smith

Prior to working as a professor, Lori Smith served as Advertising
Director of The Marietta Times and had been in the newspaper
business for over 17 years. She held a number of advertising positions
with the Gannett Company, including sales, sales management and commercial
printing consulting.
She has a Bachelors of Science in Journalism degree from Ohio University
where she majored in advertising. She graduated with honors in 1982.
She received a Master of Arts in Liberal Learning from Marietta College
in 2007.
In 1989, she won the President's Certificate of Achievement, which
is awarded annually to the top 10 Gannett advertising managers. She
has attended a number of sales and marketing training conferences
and has been active in the community through United Way, Rotary, and
a local leadership program called Telesis.
Married to Mass Media adjunct Art
Smith, they are the parents of two daughters.
Prior to becoming Assistant Professor, Lori also served as an Instructor
and
Adjunct Lecturer
at Marietta College for seven years. She has taught Introduction to
Advertising, Mass Media and Society, Advertising Campaigns, Introduction
to Public Relations, Advertising Copywriting and Design, and Consumer
Behavior.
She also is the Advertising Advisor of Marietta College's student
newspaper, The Marcolian
and helps raise funds for WRMT through corporate grants.
