December 12, 2016
Dear Marietta College Alumni and Friends:
Last night, Judy and I joined many of our students, faculty, and staff during the annual Late Night Breakfast in Gilman. This wonderful event is a great way for everyone to kick off finals week. We were also reminded once again why Marietta College is such a special place. We watched as the students and employees laughed, shared stories of another semester … and of course, enjoyed plenty of delicious food. I’m sure many of you have special memories of the breakfast and finals week, so I wanted to hearken your thoughts back to those great times in your young adult lives, as well as wish you a happy holiday season.
It is my hope that each one of you takes an opportunity to put your feet up, spend quality time with family and friends, and enjoy a little time off — I know our students and employees have earned it after completing another successful semester.
We are blessed that our students, faculty, and staff have such passion for the College. As we finish 2016, I am proud of what they are accomplishing and the energy that I see and feel around our conversations and actions. Thanks to them, Marietta remains one of the top liberal arts colleges in the region and in the country — and we will continue to improve as we move into the future. Let me add that we couldn’t do this without your loyal and constant support.
Judy and I want to thank you for welcoming us so warmly into the Marietta College family. Our outlook is sunny and I’m proud to be your president. I look forward to working with you in 2017 as we all continue to make our College the best in the nation.
Have a happy, safe and healthy holiday season.
Sincerely,
Bill Ruud
