Nobody anticipates a pandemic hitting in the middle of their college career, but the way our campus and community came together reinforced one thing for me: I want to dedicate my life to improving health outcomes in our region. Marietta College is helping me do that, with a rigorous course schedule and small classes that ensure I get plenty of support from our professors.
As I prepare for a career in healthcare, I’m so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to learn and grow. I’m especially grateful that students like me have the opportunity to continue our education at Marietta College through one of four separate graduate programs, including the Physician Assistant program where I hope to enroll next year. These opportunities exist thanks to donors like you, and I’m looking forward to sharing my journey this year as your student ambassador.
Your support matters to me and all of my classmates, and we’d like to invite you to make a gift today. You can visit the give page, or call or text “DONATE” to 877.318.0990 to invest in our College and the futures of students like me.
Thank you for your support and encouragement!
Homecoming is right around the corner, and friends, family, and members of the Long Blue Line will be reconnecting and returning “home” to Marietta College. For me, I knew Marietta was meant to be my home away from home from the first time I visited campus, and I truly cannot imagine myself attending anywhere else. I have gained some of the most encouraging and supportive mentors and friends, whose relationships I know will last a lifetime.
In addition to the connections I have formed in my first three years, I now have the chance as an Ambassador to network and build relationships with alumni and friends of the college, for which I am so grateful! Not only is this opportunity to connect with the Long Blue Line extremely valuable to me as I work towards my academic and career goals, but it also demonstrates what a strong support system MC provides and is one of the many reasons I am proud to call Marietta College “home."
I hope you'll join us on campus for Homecoming if you are able to. If you can't join us in person, please consider joining us online in our Virtual Stadium - when you purchase a ticket with a gift of just $5 or more, you'll not only help support your favorite Pioneer team, but you could even help them win an additional $3,000 in prizes thanks to a generous alumnus.Thank you again for your encouragement. I hope to see you back "home" soon!
With Thanksgiving approaching, there is a lot of talk of being thankful and grateful. Lately, I have been feeling extra grateful for the unwavering support both from the campus community and the local Marietta community. I have recently found out that I have been accepted into the Marietta College Physician Assistant program and will join the class of 2024 in June! I am beyond excited for this next step towards my career and am so grateful for the endless support and encouragement I have received from the Marietta College community along the way. I truly believe this support has played a big role in helping me to get where I am today.
On a much heavier note, many may have heard that the Alpha Xi Delta sorority house sustained serious damage following a fire earlier this month While no one was physically injured, the fire destroyed many personal belongings of the 15 girls who lived in the house and forced them into alternate housing arrangements. Unsurprisingly, the community has come together in response to this tragic event. More than 650 individuals, including supporters from both the community and afar, have contributed to the Pioneer Support Fund and have raised over $65,000 to help the students affected. I am not an Alpha Xi member, however, I have many friends in this sorority and it is so amazing to see the outpouring of support for these girls that extends well beyond our campus community.
No matter the situation, success or crisis, the Pioneer community never fails to come together to support us students. It is times like these that remind me how thankful and proud I am to be a Pioneer.
