Hi, it is Artemii checking in with you from Florida. I hope all is well and you are having a great winter. I am having a great time in Florida while not having to focus on my schoolwork. I also look forward to next semester because of the smooth transition MC provided for students during this pandemic.
Sadly, this is my last video for you; however, I look forward to being an RA on campus! The Long Blue Line has once again proven how great and helpful it is; with assistance from an awesome alum, I was offered an internship for Adobe! This opportunity will be life-changing!
I wish you the happiest holidays and enjoy your time with your family.
As weeks go by without noticing, we have ended up being so close to finals! Students are just a few weeks away from finishing the first semester of the year and going back home for a long-deserved break. I am preparing to finish my six classes and go back to Florida.
Despite COVID cases rising rapidly in the last couple of weeks, Marietta ended up flattening out the curve and lowering the cases to just a few. I was one of the positive cases on campus and now am finally out! I’m grateful that the College took such great care of me and other students who have been quarantined, and especially grateful that that care and strong leadership mean we’re still able to safely remain on campus. What are you grateful for this year?
There are many beautiful places on campus, but Harrison Hall has my heart! Which place on campus is your favorite?
October 2020: (STAY)Homecoming, Virtual Stadium Sell Out, and Connections
After finishing the eighth week of school, I am proud and happy to still be on campus! Learning in-person truly makes a difference.
This week we have Homecoming, and I hope you’ll join us in cheering on the Pioneers from our virtual stadium – check it out at https://www.givecampus.com/6vlc1l, and purchase a ticket to support your favorite team. Next week is Brother 2 Brother week, and we’re building awareness of this organization dedicated to the professional and social development of young men of color and friends. During B2B week, we'll be hosting various (socially safe) events on campus.
Over the past weeks, I have been researching and applying to computer science internships. This made me realize that connections are essential! The Long Blue Line has given me an opportunity to connect with numerous alumni who are willing to help ambitious students achieve their dreams. Thank you!! Go MC!
September: An Introduction
Hello! I'm Artemii Stepanets and I'm going to be your student ambassador this year. I have recently switched from Petroleum Engineering to a double major in Computer Science and Economics and I am exhilarated to share my experiences with you as well as learn about you!
My sophomore year has had a great start, where I am very busy with school, work, as well as my own projects; I like to say that by being busy, I develop a better understanding of who I am, what I really want to become, and grow to fulfill my responsibilities.
As an international student, I come from a very different background, and I'm thankful to be a Charles Sumner Harrison Organization (CSHO) fellow. I hope my introduction video helps you understand me better! I will be sending regular monthly updates to you and I hope you enjoy them! If you have any questions or want to simply talk to me, feel free to reach out to me by replying to this email. I look forward to hearing from you and getting to know you better!
