“I told myself I wasn’t going to like Marietta because it’s a completely different environment. It turns out that I love being somewhere new, and knowing more people than not. I honestly believe I’ve grown as a person. I’m much more open to trying new things, and now realize the thrill of putting yourself out there. Marietta is preparing and challenging me in all the right ways while giving me the independence I need, knowing it'll always have my back.”

Hello everyone!

This semester has been so crazy, but my sophomore year has definitely been one to remember. I'm so grateful for all of the experiences and opportunities I've had, and they're only possible because of your support!

Thank you so much for following my story and for supporting me and my fellow students; your support has been incredible. Before I go, I'd like to ask for your support just one more time. The College recently launched the Pioneer Support Fund to provide direct support to students who may need emergency funds for medical bills, car repairs, groceries, rent, or other unexpected expenses. Will you support students like me by making a gift, of any amount, before the end of the fiscal year, June 30th? It would mean so much to me, and it would be directly helping a current student in need. Click here to give now.

I'm very proud to be a member of The Long Blue Line and being an ambassador has been a great opportunity. I hope you stay safe and healthy, and please stay in touch!

Happy April! If you celebrate Easter or Passover, I hope you had a great holiday despite the circumstances.

In this video, I wanted to let you in on my day-to-day since the stay-at-home order has been in place. I hope your day is more interesting than mine!! So now that I've told you about mine, I want to know about yours! What do you do every day? Have you taken on a new hobby to pass the time? Send me an email and let me know!

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well.

March has been... a whirlwind, to say the least. With COVID-19 sweeping the nation, there have been so many changes just in the last two weeks. Marietta College has transitioned to online-only classes for the remainder of the semester, and while I know that all of the safety precautions are necessary, it is difficult to navigate without getting overwhelmed at times. I try not to think about the negative, though, as I focus on my classes and look forward to the future. I know it will get better!

I hope that you're staying safe and taking advantage of this time to connect with family and friends (within a reasonable social distance). See you in April!

There are only two months left in the semester, how crazy is that? Time is flying by; I wish it would slow down a little.

On another note,  #MCGivesLuv was a HUGE success! THANK YOU so much for your support! It’s amazing how The Long Blue Line really is a family; always there for each other no matter what! I’m so happy to be a part of something so great.

December: End of Fall 2019 Semester

Hi everybody, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I’m so excited that finals week is over, but so grateful for my opportunities at Marietta College! YOU make these opportunities happen for myself and all other students at the College. Your contributions mean so much to us and also allow us to prove that we are capable of making The Long Blue Line proud!

Thank you so much for everything you do for us! I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. (2020! That’s so crazy!)

November: Thanksgiving

I have a couple of questions for you...Yes, you! What are you thankful for this year? What is your favorite dish at Thanksgiving dinner? What's the craziest thing that happened around Thanksgiving when you were at Marietta College? Send me an email and let me know!

I am so thankful for the opportunities that I have been given at the College because of YOU! One of my most recent opportunities was joining Chi Omega; I love all my sorority sisters already!

Thanksgiving is such an important time of the year! Family is so important to me and I'm beyond excited to see my dad's side of the family & finally get a break from all of the homework!

I hope your month has been great so far and of course, Happy Turkey Day!!

October: Remembering Homecoming

Homecoming this past weekend was AMAZING!! I had the best time this year! If you were able to come, I’m so glad you did and I hope we were able to chat. If not, I recommend highly consider coming next year, so that you don't miss out on all of the good times and new memories! It was so exciting to watch the football game & support my fellow Pios!!!

An Introduction

Hey! My name is Bella Lopez and I'm one of four Student Ambassadors this year!

I'm originally from Syracuse, New York and I'm a sophomore. After recording this video, I changed my major from journalism to strategic communication with an English minor, and I’m hoping to add on a certificate in health communication as well.

Outside of class, you can find me working in the campus mailroom. I’ve been working there since the first week I got on campus! I'm so excited for the year ahead and cannot wait to share it with all of you!
