This is my second-to-last update for the year, and I want you to know how appreciative I am for all of you! The connections I’ve made and the advice I’ve received has been incredible and really helped me push through a tough year.
There’s been a lot going on over the past month. We’ve had two successful PioSOAR events to help orient incoming students, and last week was Greek Week! We were able to celebrate together safely and give back to the community by raising $500 for the Betsey Mills Club.
Coming up is Doo Dah Day is on Friday, April 16 and we can’t wait to relax and enjoy all of the food, games, and a live DJ! There will also be a virtual concert by 3OH!3. Finally, Finals Breakfast is just around the corner, which means the semester and our time together is almost over.
My last video will be next month, so let me know if you have any burning questions or things you want to see in my final video.
Until next time, Go Pios!
First, thank you to all who made the fifth annual Day of Giving a huge success! Your support of current students like me means the world.
We just completed midterms and had our Spring Break Day, which means that we are now halfway through the semester! The weather is beginning to warm up. It’s awesome to see the campus look more lively and people outside playing frisbee or taking a walk.
Also, spring sports are underway! I hope that you’ll support our student-athletes by following the progress of their seasons and by tuning in to a live-stream. Check out all of that action at https://pioneers.marietta.edu
I wish you all the best during this month, and I look forward to hearing from you all in the coming weeks. Feel free to email me if you would like to learn about the things that are going on around campus. Stay safe!
I hope you have all had a prosperous year thus far. To celebrate being back on campus and the upcoming Day of Giving, I interviewed two people who love Marietta as much as I do and make an impact on my experience here. Please welcome Amanda Mullen (Associate Dean of Students and Director of Campus Involvement) and Elliot Dodd (Assistant Director of Campus Activities and New Student On-Boarding)!
This year's Day of Giving is going to be our biggest celebration yet! The campaign will kick off on Sunday, February 14 at 12:01 a.m. and continue until February 15 at 18:35 (6:35 p.m. Eastern).
Our goal is to get 1,415 Pioneers to share their love by making a gift of any amount. This is a step up from the record-breaking 1,200 donors we had last year, but I know that with your help, we can do it!
When you share your love by making a gift, you're positively impacting current students, like myself. You're also helping your class and/or Greek chapter to compete for special prizes and you could be entered into exclusive raffles!
Also, students and professors have been working hard to host some special love-themed events for you. Visit marietta.edu/alumni/day-of-giving to learn more and register for free.
I hope you're staying happy and healthy, and that you'll share your #Luv4MC on social media and during #MCGivesLuv. Until then, Go Pios!
First, I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year! I hope you are all doing well and enjoyed the holiday season.
With a new year starting, I would like to know what your plans are for the year. I know 2020 was very different, however, we made it to 2021! This will be a very exciting year as we all work together to get through.
Speaking of working together, if you'd like to support athletes like me, consider purchasing a fan cutout! You can learn more or purchase your fan cutout here: https://development.marietta.edu/lifesize-cutouts Also, if you're interested in being an advocate for the upcoming Day of Giving on February 14-15, please email email@example.com. Our goal is 1,415 donors and as long as we work together, I think we can do it!
As always please let me know if you have any questions, or just want to have a conversation.
I hope all of you have had a great month and have stayed healthy during these times.
With the holiday season coming up, there can be a lot of exciting things going on. There are opportunities to see family, friends, but also just to look around and see smiling faces. (Well, masked smiling faces this year.)
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and I have so many things I can be thankful for. I am thankful for friends, family, fellow Pioneers, Marietta College and so much more. So, this holiday season I want all of you to spread joy to all around you.
I hope you all have an amazing Thanksgiving filled with friends, family, love, and food!
October 2020: (STAY)Homecoming, Virtual Stadium Sell Out, and Connections
I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. This week is Homecoming, and I am very excited! Although this year may look different, we can still make connections and get to know fellow Pioneers better. So, feel free to message me or another alum you know, and tell them to join MC for (Stay)Homecoming 2020!
You can join us in our virtual stadium this Homecoming at https://www.givecampus.com/xlxnwg - get a ticket (or more) and then enjoy cheering on the Pioneers as we stream special Blue and White games throughout the weekend just for you. Hope to see you there!
Hope to see some of you at the virtual events!
September: An Introduction
Hello fellow Pioneers!
I’m Chasten Coleman and I will be your Alumni Communication Ambassador this year. I am honored to have this position and connect with other Pioneers. Even though there is a pandemic going on I know we all have that Pioneer Spirit to keep moving forward. My sophomore year may look different, but I wouldn't want to spend it anywhere else!
If you have any questions, feel free to email me anytime. I am beyond excited to work with all of you and look forward to speaking with you.
