I loved getting to email with you all about some of your favorite spots in Marietta. The most popular spot requested for this video was Mound Cemetery. I hope you enjoy this short look into this popular and incredibly historic location.
On another note, I am happy to announce I have been admitted to every law school that I have heard back from and I am currently trying to balance financial decisions with prestige of the institution. I’ll make a decision in the next week or so and include it in my final update for May.
I’d love to answer any final questions you all have for me prior to graduation, so feel free to reply to this video. Also, as senior events are starting to occur, let me know which send-off events you found most fun!
First, thank you to everyone who made the fifth annual Day of Giving a huge success! Your support of current students like me means the world.
On a personal note, I’m happy to share that I’ve been accepted into the two schools that I have heard back from thus far!
As for campus, things are beginning to perk back up as the spring weather rolls in. It’s been a stressful few weeks as midterms progressed, but I’m excited to finish the semester strong.
I hope you all enjoy the view from Lookout Point in my video and don’t forget to reach out with the locations of your favorite places in Marietta! Maybe I'll give you a tour of the most mentioned place in my April update since visiting during the pandemic has been difficult. Talk to you soon!
Here on campus, we have been getting back into the swing of the semester and I’m definitely trying to soak in every moment of my last semester as an MC student.
I know you all have been waiting to hear so… I scored well on the LSAT and will be completing many applications over the next few weeks! Thank you all for your messages of support during the last few months; it definitely made a difference to listen to your stories and know about how MC helped you along your journey.
This month’s video update features an interview with my best friend, Rachel Ewing '20, so I hope you enjoy it!
Also, this year's Day of Giving is going to be our biggest celebration yet! The campaign will kick off on Sunday, February 14 at 12:01 a.m. and continue until February 15 at 18:35 (6:35 p.m. Eastern).
Our goal is to get 1,415 Pioneers to share their love by making a gift of any amount. This is a step up from the record-breaking 1,200 donors we had last year, but I know that with your help, we can do it!
When you share your love by making a gift, you're positively impacting current students, like myself. You're also helping your class and/or Greek chapter to compete for special prizes and you could be entered into exclusive raffles!
Also, students and professors have been working hard to host some special love-themed events for you. Visit marietta.edu/alumni/day-of-giving to learn more and register for free.
I hope you're staying happy and healthy, and that you'll share your #Luv4MC on social media and during #MCGivesLuv. Until then, Go Pios!
Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are as excited as I am to see what the new year holds. The spring semester is quickly approaching and this will be my final semester as an MC student. I am currently doing my final preparations for the LSAT and making sure I have all my books ordered for the semester.
As I get ready for the spring semester, you can get ready for upcoming events at Marietta College.
While we won’t have fans at our games, you can cheer on the Pioneers by watching the live streams of all of our home games. You can even help make sure the stands still feel full by purchasing a fan cutout, and your face (or even that of a pet) can be with us in person. To learn more or purchase your fan cut-out, visit https://development.marietta.edu/lifesize-cutouts
We’re also just a month away from Marietta College’s Founders Day, which is also our annual Day of Giving. When you share your love on February 14-15, you’ll not only help support students like me, but potentially help your class or Greek chapter win some prizes! This is also a great (and easy) way to volunteer for MC – if you’d like to learn more about being involved, please email email@example.com.
I look forward to sharing my last few months on campus with you all through these videos and I hope to have some good conversations through email with you about joining The Long Blue Line.
P.S.- I am now the proud owner of mailbox 675!
I am so excited to have some time off of classes and to spend time with my close contact circle this holiday season. I hope you and your family are able to have a safe and happy holiday season as well.
This break might be a little longer, but the campus is still hard at work. There is a J-term happening, which many students were excited to take advantage of as well as faculty and staff are working hard to prepare for the Spring semester. I’m excited to return to campus in January and get to spend my final moments as an undergraduate surrounded by my amazing Pioneer family.
Have a great holiday season,
As I write this I only have a few more days of class prior to finals and I’m excited to finish the semester strong.
This month, SGA held a pop-up event on the mall to help students, faculty, and staff express gratitude for different sectors of campus prior to leaving for an extended break. I can’t believe Thanksgiving is approaching so quickly and I’m looking forward to celebrating socially distantly.
I have really enjoyed getting to know many of you through email and I hope to continue fostering connections with you all in the coming months. I’m thankful for each of you and the impact that you have on MC.
October 2020: (STAY)Homecoming, Virtual Stadium Sell Out, and Connections
I’m so excited to have gotten to know many of you over the past few weeks and I look forward to hearing from more of you as the school year continues.
As Stay HOMEcoming approaches, I wanted to reach out and start a conversation with you all about MC connections and the Pioneer family. I have built a network of individuals in the Pioneer family that have helped me throughout my academic journey and met some of my best friends on campus. So, tell me about YOUR Pioneer family!
Also, since we can’t connect in person this Homecoming, I hope you’ll join me and thousands of other Pioneers in our virtual stadium – visit https://www.givecampus.com/t1izb6 to get your ticket and help support all of our student-athletes. When you do, you could help your favorite Pioneer team win a $1,000 grant for their program!
September: An Introduction
Hello and Happy Fall! I’m Katie and I will be your student ambassador this year. I’m so excited to get to share my campus experiences with all of you and hopefully get to learn about your time at Marietta College as well. Despite the hectic time we’re in, my senior year is off to a great start and I’m definitely taking advantage of the weather by spending time outside on our beautiful campus.
I hope my stories and video updates throughout the year help connect you to campus and bring back positive memories of your days as an MC student. If you ever have any questions or just want to chat about campus, feel free to email me by replying to my videos at any time. I look forward to hearing from you!
