“I have grown more as a person, though I wasn’t all that shy to begin with, being a student at Marietta has allowed me to become better at interacting with those around me in order to make tasks easier for myself, and to help others along the way.”
Oh me, oh my! How is it already May?
This year has truly flown by and I cannot thank you for being so loyal, inquisitive, and awesomely supportive of me and my friends at Marietta through these two crazy, hectic, and incredibly short semesters.
I hope that you have enjoyed the ride as much as I have and that you’ll keep in touch! Before I go, I'd like to ask for your support just one more time. The College recently launched the Pioneer Support Fund to provide direct support to students who may need emergency funds for medical bills, car repairs, groceries, rent, or other unexpected expenses. Will you support students like me by making a gift, of any amount, before the end of the fiscal year, June 30th? It would mean so much to me, and it would be directly helping a current student in need. Click here to give now.
It has been a wonderful year, and I wish you the best of health and happiness!
Redbuds are blooming, dogwoods are coming.
Homework is rolling and exams are nearing!
Online college is going swimmingly and these dogs are crazy!!
My goodness... these past few weeks have been a doozy.
Marietta College has transitioned to online-only classes for the remainder of the semester, and only those who approved to stay on campus for extenuating circumstances are permitted to stay. While this has been a whirlwind of a process with more precautions developing each day, we know that Governor DeWine and Marietta College has our best interest at heart and is doing everything possible to keep us safe.
As students, we're doing our best to keep chugging along and stay optimistic as we work to finish out this semester.
I hope you enjoy this video message and that you are being safe during this crazy pandemic!
Founder's Day essentials: friends, food, and wonderful alumni.
I just wanted to send a huge THANK YOU to all of my amazing Pioneer friends that supported this campus during our fourth annual Day of Giving! You all are the reason that MC is able to do so many amazing things.
I hope that you enjoy this video, which is proudly brought to you by me, thanks to my goofy friends who recorded it while we were studying!
January: Hello 2020!
It may be cold and it may be cloudy, but here in Marietta the fun never stops!
We are off to a fun and new adventure as we start the spring semester and I hope that you all are ready for the ride along the way. We’re less than a month away from Founders Day and our annual Day of Giving, so I hope you’ve got your calendars marked for February 14! Here’s to a happy new year, a fun and eventful semester, and a great opportunity to get in touch and share your love with some amazing people.
December: End of Fall 2019 Semester
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
Finals are done and the campus is getting quieter by the minute as people are packing up and heading home for a much-needed break! I wish you the best of holidays, filled with joy, cheer, and being surrounded by your favorite people, whomever that may be!
It’s been an awesome semester and I look forward to seeing you again in the new year!!
PS – The results are in from last month's survey! Only 25% of respondents said that noodles or dumplings are on their table at Thanksgiving. Look here to see if pumpkin or sweet potato pie is more prevalent among Pioneers, as well as all of the other results!
Hey, it's me again!
It's getting colder, the leaves are changing colors, and the best food of the year is inching closer and closer...
Finals are coming up, and they've given me a few anxiety attacks that have provided me with some time to reflect on what I am truly thankful for in life.
This time has also led to some really interesting conversations about tradition. So, I'm curious about what YOUR holiday traditions are! Shoot me an email with your favorite things to do on the wonderful day of Thanksgiving, and then click the link below to weigh in on what you think should be on the dinner table!
October: Remembering Homecoming
Hey! I'm back and thriving after all of the homecoming festivities this past weekend! I really enjoyed meeting everyone that was in town and hearing about all of the grand adventures you had while you were a student! I love this time of year because I love getting to know you all! So, please enjoy this video and good luck with all of your crazy and awesome adventures.
Hey, I'm Orv Taylor and I am one of the student ambassadors.
This semester I am pursuing 22 credit hours in the fields of Petroleum Engineering and Finance! This probably says enough about my involvement here on campus, but make no mistake, I absolutely love meeting new people and making connections with folks that want to chat about how life is going.
This semester I hope to get to know some awesome members of The Long Blue Line, learn about how you all have shaped MC and hopefully give you a glance into the crazy, hectic and awesome life of a current Pioneer. There is so much to look forward to and I can’t wait to take this journey with y’all! Click here to welcome Orv.
