Automotive industry VP appointed to McDonough Center Committee
Nancy Gougarty, vice president of Business and Product Planning at TRW Automotive of Michigan, was recently appointed to the McDonough Center for Leadership and Business Charter Committee at Marietta College for the 2005-06 academic year.
The charter committee is an advisory council that serves as a resource for strategic planning at the McDonough Center. This advisory group is made up of the College’s Chair of the Board of Trustees, the President and Provost of the College, and no more than seven outside representatives. The council typically meets once a year, usually in February when the McDonough Center celebrates its anniversary.
"It's a privilege to be appointed to the McDonough Center Charter Committee. It is impossible to mention the number of times in the past two years that I have been impressed by the McDonough Leadership Program," said Gougarty, whose daughter Jamie is a sophomore at MC. "Through interactions with faculty members, participating in Parent's Weekend activities and being in the classroom, I see and have experienced the depth of the curriculum and the talent Marietta College has associated with McDonough Leadership Program. I look forward in my new role as a member of the Committee to further the mission."
Gougarty, of Rochester, Mich., received a bachelor's degree in industrial management from the University of Cincinnati and a master's in business administration from Case Western Reserve University. Before taking this new position with TRW she worked for nearly 28 years with the Delphi Corporation.
TRW Automotive is among the world's 10 largest automotive suppliers and is one of the top financial performers in the industry.
