Marietta College’s Jazz Combo will present its first concert of the year at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 8th, in the Alma McDonough Auditorium.

The concert, which is under the direction of applied saxophone and jazz ensemble instructor Jordan Reed, will feature classic jazz standards written by some of the most recognizable names in the jazz lexicon, as well as an original composition by Marietta College’s Logan Reynolds ’19 (Vincent, Ohio).

For the group’s inaugural concert, they’ll be featuring the music of Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis and John Coltrane. The Marietta College Jazz Combo is aiming to represent the many styles, moods, and aesthetics of the American combos of the 1960s and ’70s while arranging the tunes in a way that is both modern and unique to the group.

Admission is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
