Hundreds of entrepreneurs, business owners, community leaders and students — both college and high school — are expected to attend the inaugural Mid-Ohio Valley Entrepreneurship Expo at Marietta College on Saturday, Sept. 17.

This one-day conference should provide business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to network and gain valuable tools and resources necessary to start, maintain or expand their operation.

“Marietta College is partnering with 18 organizations in the area to host the first Mid-Ohio Valley Entrepreneurship Expo,” said Robin Stewart, Grants, Foundation & Corporate Gift Officer at Marietta College. “It is a chance for aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners to network and learn ways to address common issues they face. Marietta College expects up to 300 attendees. Students and faculty have the opportunity to connect with community leaders and business owners. It also allows us to engage alumni as featured speakers.”

The conference will cover topics related to marketing, human resources, entrepreneurial mindset, financing and much more. There will also be a vendor showcase, a networking luncheon and an opportunity for local and regional profit, non-profit and governmental agencies to share resources.

“This conference will reinforce the Mid-Ohio Valley’s desire to foster economic growth through entrepreneurial enterprises and innovative mindsets in order to make the Mid-Ohio Valley a better place to go to school, to live and to work,” said Dr. Jacqueline Khorassani, Director of Entrepreneurship at Marietta.

Khorassani added that there is still a chance to get involved, including sponsorship and vendor opportunities. For more information, go to or contact Hilles Hughes ( or Robin Stewart ( Information is also available on Facebook at
