Marietta senior to attend PRSSA National Conference on a grant
Marietta College’s Lindsey Kudaroski ’14 (Washington, Pa.) was awarded one of five conference grants by the Public Relations Student Society of America for attendance at the 2013 “Foundation for Innovation” PRSSA National Conference from Oct. 25-29 in Philadelphia, Pa.
Kudaroski is pursuing a major in Advertising & Public Relations with a minor in English. She currently is serving a second-term as president of the College’s chapter of PRSSA and has worked to grow the chapter on campus.
“I’m incredibly proud of how far our chapter has come since last year,” Kudaroski said. “We’re gaining members, hosting programs and earning a great reputation at both the state and national levels. I hope people see my personal success in earning the grant as a reflection of that.”
Dr. Jane Dailey, Marietta College’s PRSSA Faculty Adviser, said Kudaroski is a worthy recipient of the conference grant.
“From the beginning of her involvement in PRSSA, Lindsey has been a real champion for the organization,” Dailey said. “I know how much she values the opportunity to attend the conference, and the grant is helping her make that happen.”
The PRSSA Conference Grant covers the cost of national conference registration for up to five applicants. In order to apply, interested students were asked to submit a letter of recommendation, a draft press release and an essay about a necessary skill for working in public relations.
This will be the third year Marietta College students have attended the national conference.
Kudaroski has completed four internships during her collegiate career. Most recently, she served as the summer 2013 corporate communications intern at Glimcher Realty Trust, a retail real estate investment trust based in Columbus, Ohio. She has also worked in college relations, non-profits, agency and newspapers.
