Marietta signs cooperative agreement with international university
For more than three decades, Marietta College has maintained a close relationship with the University of International Relations (UIR) in Beijing, China.
Recently, Marietta President Dr. Jean Scott and UIR President Dr. Jian Tao reaffirmed the partnership between the two institutions by signing a cooperative agreement that continues current practices through Oct. 5, 2016.
The agreement includes:
-- Marietta hosts a visiting scholar from the UIR each semester. The UIR scholar often team teaches or sometimes individually teaches a course.
-- UIR agrees to host Marietta visiting scholars for short visits.
-- Marietta and UIR encourage joint research activities.
-- UIR and Marietta agree to send mutual exchange visits to promote academic cooperation.
-- Each year, Marietta will accept one UIR exchange student—this year that student is Wang Yi Qing.
-- Both institutions agree to promote student exchanges.
