Movie filmed at College to make debut at McDonough Center Sept. 21

perfectmatchPerfectMatch, a movie filmed almost entirely on Marietta College’s campus, will make its Ohio premiere at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21, in the Alma McDonough Auditorium.

Admission is free for any Marietta College student with his or her ID at the first showing. The second showing — at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22 — is for the local community and admission is $10. Seating begins at 6:30 p.m.

A small, independent film crew arrived in Marietta during the summer of 2010, and over a four-week period filmed the majority of PerfectMatch (originally titled “Her Name is Me”).

The movie stars Giselle Brasseur and Nic Roewert, and the executive producer is Mark Booker. PerfectMatch was written and directed by Marietta-native Chad Eddy.

PerfectMatch involves two lovelorn 20-somethings who discover each other on a popular Internet dating site. However, there’s a twist. Roewert’s character, Stephen, works for the site and actually manipulates the site to create this perfect match. This naturally complicates things.

Following the film, the actors and filmmakers will conduct a Q&A session with the filmgoers.

The movie’s world premiere took place at the Victoria Independent Film Festival in Texas in March. The movie can be found on IMDb and has a Facebook page.
