Repeat Performance: Second straight year an ATO, Chi Omega rule Homecoming royalty


Marietta College’s Jennifer Kuhn ’11 (Stow, Ohio) and Blake Johnson ’11 (Parkersburg, W.Va.) were crowned Homecoming 2010 royalty during halftime of the Pioneers’ football game against Ohio Northern on Saturday (Oct. 30).
The crowning of king and queen was just one of the many highlights of this year’s homecoming week festivities. Throughout the week the candidates participated in activities such as Munchies on the Mall, Carve the Candidate, a Cheer Competition, a pennant competition and Candidate Croon.
Nominated by Chi Omega sorority, Kuhn is majoring in Broadcasting and has minors in Political Science and History. Kuhn is the daughter of David and Laurie Kuhn. She is a member of Order of Omega (Greek Honorary), President of Panhellenic Council, dance team, Colleges Against Cancer, Omicron Delta Kappa (Leadership Honorary), and WCMO-TV. Her father, David Kuhn and alumna Emily Harding ’10 served as her escorts.
Johnson, the nominee of Alpha Tau Omega, is part of the honors program and a Resident Assistant, President of Order of Omega (Greek Honorary), orientation leader, and is a member of the ultimate Frisbee team, Alpha Lambda Delta (Freshmen Honorary), and Beta Beta Beta (Biology Honorary). He is a Biochemistry major with a minor in Spanish and a certificate in Leadership. Johnson is the son of John and Rebecca Roberts and David and Ana Johnson. Johnson was escorted by Rebecca Roberts and alumna Christina Cappadona ’10.

Amanda Case
Omicron Chi Theta nominated Case, of Mason, Ohio. She is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Literature and a certificate in Writing. Case, the daughter of John and Christine Case, is a member of Psychology Club. She was escorted by Matthew Middaugh and alumna Claire Berlin.
Amber Davis
Representing Sigma Kappa sorority, Davis is a member of the Public Relations club, Up ’til Dawn, Colleges Against Cancer, and AAF. She is majoring in Advertising, Public Relations and Marketing and has a minor in leadership. Davis, daughter of Steve and Diane Davis, is from Ravenna, Ohio. She was escorted by her father and alumna Tori Caracciolo ’08.
Jessica “Lippy” Lipniskas
Lipniskas was nominated by Alpha Xi Delta sorority and is majoring in Theater. She is Vice President of the sorority, a member of women’s choir, Alpha Psi Omega (Drama Honorary), and the theater department. Lipniskas, daughter of William and Catherine Lipniskas, is from Uniontown, Pa. Her father and alumna Tucky Dangamuwa ’10 were her escorts.
Alison Matas
Representing the Honor’s House, Matas is the editor of The Marcolian, and is a member of concert choir, chamber singers, and Colleges Against Cancer. She is also an intern in College Relations. Matas, the daughter of Stephen and Jennifer Matas, is from Kent, Ohio and is majoring in Journalism and has minors in Leadership and Organizational Communications and Public Relations. She was escorted by her mother.

Stephen Baranoski
Representing Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, Baranoski is a member of crew, Erwin Knight, Kappa Delta Pi (Education Honorary), Phi Alpha Theta (History Honorary), and is a Resident Assistant. Baranoski, son of Robert and Madelon Baranoski, is from Meriden, Conn. and is majoring in Education and has a minor in History. He was escorted by Kelly Querry ’11 and alumnus Derek Carpenter.
Derek Ensinger
Ensinger, of Powhatan Point, Ohio, is President of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and is in Alpha Lambda Delta (freshmen honorary). Ensinger, son of Ken and Penny Ensinger, is majoring in Advertising and Public Relations and has minors in Marketing and Applied Communication. He was escorted by his mother, Penny Ensinger, and alumnus Scott Dettra ’09.
Colin “Tyler” Preston
Preston, of Marietta, Ohio, was nominated by the Charles Sumner Harrison Organization (CSHO) of which he is Vice President. He is also a member of the Vine. Preston, son of Melanie and Charles Preston, is majoring in Public Relations and Organizational Communication. He was escorted by Lauren Asbury ’12.
