Softball closes out regular season with 7th annual Community Day
With three seniors playing in their final game as Pioneers on Saturday, the seventh annual Community Softball Day is a great way to bid each one farewell.
Marietta (12-20) plays host to John Carroll (20-15) in an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader at Marietta Field. Gates open at 11 a.m. and the first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, April 25.
The seniors are Courtney Kerwood ’15 (Nashport, Ohio), Sarah Mayo ’15 (Proctorville, Ohio) and Alexis O’Hair ’15 (Maumee, Ohio). Throwing out the ceremonial first pitch will be former Athletic Director and current Sports Management professor, Debbie Lazorik, who is retiring at the end of the academic year.
The event, which is organized and executed by a Sports Management class, will once again feature free Community Day T-shirts, hot dogs and Pepsi products. There will also be inflatables for the children, as well as cotton candy and Sno-Kones.
