Classroom learning is practiced and applied in our production season. Students are involved in every aspect of production as actors, directors, designers, technicians, front-of-house staff, dramaturges, and playwrights. The expectation is that BFA majors will enroll in at least 6 semesters of practicum (out of 8). The Theatre at Marietta College is committed to training students in a wide array of theatrical styles of performance through our production work. Recent productions include The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, The Rocky Horror Show by Richard O’Brian, William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and The Maids by Jean Genet. Our incredibly adaptable facility also allows us to train students in various popular staging formats such as proscenium, thrust, alley, and arena (in the round).
