Marietta College strongly recommends that all individuals wash hands frequently with soap and warm water, for at least 20 seconds. In addition, individuals should avoid touching their face (eyes, mouth, nose) with unwashed hands. When soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer with at least 60-percent alcohol. Add to palm and rub until dry to disinfect hands following contact with shared surfaces that may have been used by others (door handles, counter tops and other flat surfaces, light switches, phones, keyboards, etc.). All individuals should cover their mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, with a tissue or into your elbow.

These recommendations and requirements will be updated as new information about the virus develops and we monitor and evaluate data. (last updated July 1, 2020)
