Time:
1:30pm

The Legacy Library will be dedicating the Irene Neu Study Area on the library's first floor at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 21st. Created by renovations carried out during the winter break, this new study area was funded by the endowment created as a result of Dr. Neu's generous bequest. The area features nine new individual study nooks, as well as additional study tables.

Dr. Irene Neu Jones (1916-2012) was an alumna of Marietta College, Class of 1944. After graduating, she earned graduate degrees at Cornell University and began a teaching career at Southeast Missouri State College before accepting a full professorship at Indiana University-Bloomington. She married her former professor, Dr. R.L. Jones, in 1976 and retired to Marietta in 1986. In retirement, she volunteered regularly in the Marietta College Library's Special Collections.

Marietta College faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend the brief dedication ceremony.
