Marietta College's Physics Department is conducting the first Physics Colloquium of the year at 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 23rd, in Selby 150. Astronomers received an amazing gift last December when the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) launched successfully and many of us were awed by the first images released last July. But aside from pretty pictures, what’s so great about this telescope? Dr. Ann Bragg of the MC Physics Department will discuss how the JWST is different from past telescopes, what questions it was designed to answer, and how it is uniquely capable to address these questions. And, of course, we will look at some pretty pictures!

Physics will provide pizza and drinks. If you know you plan to come, please let Andrea Richardson (adr003@marietta.edu) know to help us get a pizza count.
