The Theatre at Marietta College will perform She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9th, in the Friederich Theater. It is directed by Associate Professor Andy Felt.
A comedic romp into the world of fantasy role-playing games, She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her Ohio childhood home after the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she stumbles into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was Tilly’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and ’90s pop culture, the acclaimed young playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all. This show is equivalent to an R-movie rating.
Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $15 for senior citizens and children under 18. Tickets are available through www.marietta.edu/boxoffice. Marietta College students, employees, and immediate families of employees may get free tickets at the box office on the day of the performance by presenting a Marietta College ID. Art and philanthropy merge in Playing For Others. A portion of all proceeds from this performance will benefit a designated charity.
