Merewyn Weinkauf, Instructor of Music, will be the first speaker for the spring session of the Unheralded Women’s Speaker Series. Merewyn will be speaking about Clara Schumann, who was an amazing woman composer and lead interpreter for Robert Schumann's compositions. At a time where women were not encouraged to do anything more than stay and home and run the house, Clara Schumann greatly influenced the composers in her life such as Johannes Brahms and Joseph Joachim.
The talk will take place at noon, Wednesday, February 6th, in the Alma McDonough Auditorium. Lunch will be provided thanks to the Office of Academic Affairs.
